*clears cobwebs* It’s been nearly a month since my last blog post and I honestly CAN believe it. I think this has been the height of my inconsistency but I’m glad I took a break. However I’ve been a BAD BLOGGER and I do want to tender my sincere apologies for not being fully present especially to all those who keep texting me about being absent in this space. As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been a very bad blogger but I just want to use this medium to let you know that it is 101% OK to be a “bad blogger” and here is my reason…

From time to time, I believe as bloggers we all fall into the “I’m a bad blogger” trap sooner or later and it totally makes us feel like crap atleast from my own experience, hardly a day goes by without me thinking of my blog or how much I want to share my thoughts and experiences here. To be very sincere, it genuinely hurts. Although this might sound a bit cliche but I need you to understand that everyone’s fighting a battle. If a blogger hasn’t posted anything for a few days/weeks/months, it doesn’t mean they are lazy or don’t care, life happens and it can really knock anyone out (Alexa play Knock you down by Keri Hilson).

We all have a number of things going on and they need to be taken care of on a daily basis. Long work hours, university assignments, school exams, caring for kids, quality time with your significant other, family arrangements and the list goes on and on or just a lack of clarity like in my own case. While I sincerely wish I knew how other bloggers juggle it all and still have a clear mind to write down their thoughts, having the ‘fake-it-till-you-make-it’ attitude is not my thing at all. As we all know, blogging has become something that people turn into a business, I believe it’s still supposed to be fun, atleast that’s why I started blogging (actually the thrill of dressing up in my cheap clothes and looking peng in photos (don’t judge me)).

In recent times, a lot of people have become anxious and vulnerable especially those who suffer from anxiety. I honestly think it’s a good idea to take some time off when you need it, from dealing with is the lack of growth frustration due to social media algorithms or peoples recent lack of interest in blogs, obsession over Instagram feeds or creating QUALITY content like in my case.

With hopes that I’ve been able to convince you, not confused you that being a “bad blogger” doesn’t actually mean you are a bad blogger, it’s time to take action. Below are 5 simple things I have done that you can do for the community you’ve built when you take that very much needed break or a pause.

I know it kinda seems like it’s in our nature (I mean bloggers) to constantly apologize for being absent but guess what, it’s perfectly OK. We all try and the main thing is your {REAL} tribe will stick around no matter what, just remember to be kind and supportive to others. Speaking of being supportive, kindly fill this survey to help me serve YOU reading this blog better.

Love always…

  1. Like ikr, sometimes I feel like I experience writer bloc or not being efficient like I want to be. Then I get the whole talk of why am I not writing or posting, don’t I want to make money out of blogging, little did they know I only starting my personal blog cause I was depressed and needed to let out emotions through feeds and writing . Nice write up and lips ❤️
